Playbook 02

Closet audit day, captured once

You're in her closet for three hours. Get it all in while you're there, so you never have to go back for a photo.

The afternoon

Five things to do before you leave

01

Photograph as you go

batch upload from your phone

Shoot every piece as it comes off the rail and upload the camera roll in one go. Each piece is tagged as it lands, and the few the tagger is unsure about wait for you in a short list.

02

Keep or let go

archive, one tap each

Walk the closet piece by piece. What stays, stays. What goes, you archive with one tap, and it leaves the working closet without being lost: she can see the archive on her phone and act on it after you leave.

03

Log her sizes while you hold the labels

on her record, once

Write them down now, while the labels are in your hand, and the next time you shop for her you won't guess.

04

Note what's missing

the wishlist, started today

The gaps are obvious while you're standing in front of them and gone by tomorrow. Three pieces on the wishlist now is next month's shopping list.

05

Leave three outfits behind

from what stayed

Build three looks from the keep pile before you go. She opens the app that night and the closet she was embarrassed by is already doing something.

Without it

How audit day usually ends

  • 01Four hundred photos in your camera roll, none of them named.
  • 02The donate pile goes back in the closet the week after you leave.
  • 03Her sizes are in your head, and your head shops for eleven other people.
  • 04The list of what she needs is on a Post-it in the car.
That night

What she has when you leave

  • Her whole closet on her phone, tagged and searchable.
  • An archive of what she let go, with a next step.
  • Her sizes, written down once.
  • Three outfits from what stayed, and a wishlist for what didn't exist yet.

Questions

Audit day, in brief

How long does it take to get a whole closet in?+

About as long as the audit itself, because the photographing is the audit. Batch upload takes the camera roll at once and tags each piece. A closet of a hundred pieces is usable the same evening.

What happens to the pieces she lets go?+

They move out of the working closet into an archive she can see on her phone, so the pile has a next step and the closet you style from is only what stayed.

Can she add to the wishlist herself?+

Yes. The wishlist is shared. You start it on audit day, she adds the thing she saw in a window, and you both see what got bought.

Can she see the outfits that night?+

Yes. Outfits you build on her closet show up on her phone as soon as you save them.
